Construction of a one-story addition to the Weis Residential Hall and renovations to adjacent areas in a residential building that was occupied on both sides and above the construction area and located on an busy college campus included:
- Seminar room
- Living room with custom fireplace and library
- Multipurpose meeting room with acoustical millwork feature wall
- Residential kitchen
- Administrative offices
- Extensive brick, bluestone, and granite paving and hardscaping in courtyard area
- High end finishes including maple and anigre paneling, bluestone flooring, and acoustical millwork feature wall
- Significant structural challenges to keep existing building structure and facade supported during demolition and construction of new addition structure
- Vegetated roof system allowing for a decrease in storm water run-off, and preventing heat gain during summer
- Large expanses of curtainwall and skylights for natural daylighting to reduce energy consumption for lighting
- Energy recovery units in HVAC system
